The title says it all!  Diana Reyes aka Fly Lady Di put together an amazing display of her choreography skills at the Dusk Dances in Toronto this past weekend. I really wish that I was able to see this performance live. The performers did an really good job in being a part of this.

PS: I’ve made this a stem from the bboying category since my attention to house dance came from bboying, but its a very different dance style. Its just as dynamic and  just as artistic, but a different way of moving.

TvB Outdoor Training Session!

TvB presents Outdoor Training Day! This serves as the first (and free) run of what will hopefully become regular training meets. I need your help to make this a success. I’m looking for eager participants and constructive feedback.

This is a group training session that works towards improving:

– muscular endurance

– muscular power output

– cardiovascular endurance

This is perfect for athletes in traditional sports (basketball, football, soccer, or hockey to name a few). It’s also just as beneficial for the unconventional athletes (I’m talking to you bboys/bgirls and traceurs!)

I present this session as a challenge to you athletes. Training in general tends to be hard, but this will challenge you in a new way. If you are interested in joining in on this session, contact me at the email address below. I’m only accepting the first 20 applicants, so sign up as soon as you can. Even though this is a free event, REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.

This session will be held at HURON PARK COMMUNITY CENTER (map link below). The meet time is Saturday, August 28th at 8:30am and will begin at 9am SHARP. The event is scheduled as 2 hours, but may be longer or shorter depending on how participants respond during the training session.

The two hours includes:

– Warm up

– Description of the Workout (a brief overview of what the workout entails)

– Performing the main exercise

– Cool down and stretching

– Collective feedback/discussion (if time permits)

Make sure to bring water (LOTS of it), and small snacks just in case for after the workout.

This is a FREE event, however I am accepting donations to help fund future training sessions.

All the best, and hopefully I’ll see you there!

Just felt like throwing in a random music post. If you like jazz and you like hip hop, then you’ll like this.

I’m not superstitious at all, but I figure since it’s the 13th I may as well put a work out together that makes you feel unlucky while you’re doing it ;). That’s my personal trainer charm speaking.

The workout:

10 burpees
20 set mountain climbers (2 kicks = one set)
10 push ups
10 box jumps

Beginner = 3 sets, Intermediate = 4-6 sets, Advanced = 7-10+.

NOTE: if you’re doing more than 10 sets of this then why are you even looking at this site? Must be the music (see end of post).

Both myself and a friend of mine were only able to get 6 sets in today, both of us with our own reason. 10 is definitely doable with good determination.
